Food & the hCG Diet
This Is What to Eat on the hCG Diet
Eating the right foods is an important part of the hCG diet. Without following plans outlined by your coach or doctor, you won’t see satisfying results. Sticking to a very low-calorie diet is a necessary part of the process, and while taxing at times, it pays off when you finally reach your weight loss goals. Monitoring portion sizes and choosing the right foods will help you lose weight quickly while staying healthy and strong.
At MyDietDoc, our certified coaches create meal plans for patients on the hCG diet. We take into account important factors like weight, age, and physiological makeup to ensure hCG doses and diet food plans are tailored to the individual. This means you’ll maintain healthy energy levels with meal plans made just for you.
The hCG Diet Eating Plan
Plans are created based on the patient’s current weight and weight loss goals, but they generally follow a standard set of dieting rules that have proven effective time and time again. Deciding what to eat on the hCG diet is dictated by portion sizes and a select group of proteins, fruits, vegetables, spices, and beverages. The following foods can be consumed on the hCG diet.
- proteins: white fish, lobster, crab, shrimp, extra lean beef, buffalo, 3 egg whites, scallops, and chicken
- vegetables: celery, spinach, fennel, cauliflower, chard, onions, beet greens, cucumbers, green salad, cabbage, mixed greens, red radishes, shallots, asparagus, tomatoes, and broccoli
- fruit: grapefruit, oranges, apples, lemons, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries
- drinks & miscellaneous items: apple cider vinegar, stevia, mustard powder, salt, pepper, natural spices, Bragg Liquid Aminos, herbal tea, and coffee
These are some of the best foods to eat on the hCG diet – and ones that are allowed for consumption. But they have to be consumed carefully, in certain portions, and during certain phases of the program.
Portion Size Matters
Standard hCG diet plans require that you consume less than 500 calories a day. This was the standard set forth by Mr. Simeons – a plan many people follow to this day to see astonishing results. Our 30-day programs generally follow this rule with certain exceptions. If it’s healthier or more effective for patients to consume less or more than the standard amount, coaches will alter plans to best suit the individual. 60-day plans, in particular, may require a higher caloric intake to sustain energy levels during the entirety of the program.
Eating During the Different Phases
Meal plans on the hCG diet also change during the program’s various phases. During phase one, you’ll increase caloric and fat intakes for two days to confuse the body’s fat storing system while starting your injections. By eating high-fat foods while injecting hCG you’ll actually prevent your body from holding on to toxic fats.
After eating fatty foods for several days, phase two begins. During this phase, you’ll continue using hCG injections while starting a low-calorie diet with the foods outlined above. The length of phase two depends on how much weight you want to lose. The standard minimum and maximum lengths for this phase are 23 and 40 days of injections respectively.
MyDietDoc goes beyond traditional plans by offering extended programs for patients who want to continue losing weight beyond the recommended timeframes. No matter the length of your program, a certified MyDietDoc coach will monitor its safety and efficacy.
After finishing the injections, patients continue their diet for three days – and then enter into phase three. This phase is about maintaining your weight and taking a break before possibly starting another round of injections. Breaks aren’t always necessary or encouraged, and a coach will work with you to determine the best plan for you.
You’ve finally reached phase four. Now, you only need to focus on maintaining your new weight by determining ideal caloric intakes with a coach or doctor and eating clean, unprocessed foods.
